Remedial is all that we do.
…all our therapists are remedial massage specialists.

We understand that each client’s needs are different, and those needs can change from massage to massage. Our therapists are skilled and intuitive remedial massage therapists able to vary their approach to suit a number of conditions and individual needs, to achieve the best results.

ALL our treatments are Health Fund Rebate covered – On the spot HICAPS claim available in-clinic

We offer a range of Remedial Massage Treatments to suit a variety of needs. Each of these treatments can involve a number of different modality techniques. Your Therapist will draw on their modality skill set to provide a treatment plan specific to your individual needs.

All in clinic treatments, excluding Hot Stone Remedial Massage, are available through our mobile massage service by prior arrangement (at least 24 hours required). Please call to arrange your mobile service for individuals, couples or groups.

Modalities that may be used in your treatment plan are:

Swedish (Therapeutic Strokes) is what many people are thinking about when they hear the word “massage”. This modality incorporates the foundational strokes of all modern massage. It can include long, sweeping strokes (effleurage) – usually used at the start and end of a massage, muscle kneading and rolling (petrissage), friction – where deep pressure is applied to a particular spot with the thumb, fingertips, or knuckles or rhythmic tapping (tapotement) – fast percussion movements like chopping, pounding or cupping of the palms.

Swedish strokes can help with

  • stress relief and relaxation
  • releasing cramped or tense muscles
  • therapist establishing their read of the body

Deep Tissue is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue uses many of the same movements and techniques as lighter massage techniques, but the pressure will generally be more intense with long slow movements penetrating deep into the muscle fibres

Deep-tissue helps to:

  • loosen muscle tissues,
  • release toxins from muscles, and
  • get blood and oxygen circulating

Trigger Point Therapy uses techniques to release tight, knotted, tender spots in a muscle, known as “trigger points.” Trigger point pain is very common, and the effects can be debilitating. That’s because although the trigger point itself may be confined to a specific area, the symptoms it generates, including pain, numbness and tingling can radiate or “refer” symptoms to other areas of the body. Many trigger points are easily palpable, feeling like knotted bands or painful lumps within the muscle fibres. Trigger point therapy focuses on these spots, breaking up the tight fibres, releasing pain and tension, and promoting healthy circulation. Since trigger points are very tender, massage can be uncomfortable at times. But because trigger point symptoms can become worse over time, most patients find the discomfort is well worth the long-term benefits that result.

Trigger Point Therapy can help to:

  • Relieve pain at the site of the trigger points along with referred pain that occurs in other areas
  • relieve chronic pain due to stress or occupational-related muscle strain.

Myofascial Release focuses primarily on the fascia and connective tissue. Our fascia is the biological fabric that holds us together. It is a thin, tough, but elastic type of tissue that wraps around most of the structures in our body, including our muscles, providing support.

It is believed that our fascia can tighten as a result of overuse, disease, trauma, infection or inactivity. This tightening can constrict muscles, decreasing blood supply, resulting in pain and decreasing range of movement.

Myofascial Release can help to:

  • relax contracted muscles
  • improve lymphatic and blood circulation
  • stimulate the ‘stretch reflex’ in our muscles

What Our Clients Say

  • I recently visited Massage Noosa for a Hot Stone massage. Jahna melted away my stress and tensions with the hot basalt stones, when I left, I felt light in body and mind. Jahna was absolutely amazing, her hands are truly magical. I highly recommend Jahna for a Hot Stone massage, definitely one of the best massages I've ever had. Oh and Jahna is registered so I could claim through my private health. BLISS

She is very good at adjusting massage pressures depending on pain thresholds and client requirements. One of the best masseurs I've tried and I've tried plenty.

I have had lower back pain for months going to the Dr having scans etc. Nothing helped. You think you are sitting correctly at your desk but with a reminder from Massage Noosa I made some adjustments. I had a massage and then a second one a week later. My back has improved so much I can move around free of pain.... Thank you, I really was at the end of my tether being in constant pain. Life can get back to normal .
